News: Amy Eisenstein Presents Board Fundraising Workshop in Scranton

Capital Campaign Pro co-founder and CEO Amy Eisenstein, ACFRE, recently led a workshop for nonprofit board members and leaders hosted by the Scranton Area Community Foundation and the Center for Community Leadership and Nonprofit Excellence.
The session, Fundraising Without the Fear: Simple Ways for Board Members to Help Inspire Giving, focused on helping board members become more confident and effective ambassadors for their organizations.
During the workshop, Amy explored the 5 Ts of philanthropy—Time, Talent, Treasure, Ties, and Testimony—and shared practical strategies for how board members can support fundraising efforts, strengthen donor
relationships, and advance their organization’s mission.
Designed for board members and nonprofit leaders alike, the session provided actionable guidance, storytelling techniques, and real-world examples that participants could immediately put into practice.
Key topics included:
- Understanding the 5 Ts of philanthropy and the many ways board members can contribute
- Practical and approachable ways to support fundraising efforts
- Building stronger relationships with donors and supporters
- Using storytelling to communicate mission and impact
- Becoming a more effective ambassador for an organization
- Inspiring generosity through authentic engagement and advocacy
Amy also emphasized that fundraising is a shared responsibility of nonprofit leadership and that board members do not need to solicit gifts directly to make a meaningful impact on fundraising success.
The workshop came on the heels of the release of A Board Member’s Guide to Capital Campaign Fundraising: How to Raise Game-Changing Money for Your Nonprofit, co-authored by Amy Eisenstein and Sarah Plimpton. Written specifically for nonprofit board members, the book demystifies capital campaigns and offers a step-by-step framework for helping organizations raise significant gifts, engage major donors, and achieve ambitious fundraising goals.
At Capital Campaign Pro, we believe that empowered and engaged board members are among a nonprofit’s greatest fundraising assets. When board members understand their role in philanthropy and feel confident sharing their organization’s story, they can help inspire greater community support and deeper donor engagement.
We are grateful to the Scranton Area Community Foundation and the Center for Community Leadership and Nonprofit Excellence for hosting this important conversation and for their commitment to strengthening nonprofit leadership throughout the region.
