She has held leadership roles at organizations such as Breakthrough New York, Rutgers University, and RWJ University Hospital, where she led multi-million-dollar fundraising initiatives while also gaining valuable capital campaign experience.

In 2020, Shawna founded her consulting firm to support nonprofits in their recovery and growth post-pandemic. She is especially passionate about collaborating with organizations focused on racial equity, economic development, and community-driven efforts.
