Andrea Kihlstedt
Andrea Kihlstedt is an author, trainer and coach in capital campaign fundraising. Andrea has been in the fundraising profession for more than 30 years. She is co-founder of Asking Matters, Capital Campaign Masters and Capital Campaign Pro.
A gifted author, Andrea has written four books on fundraising, including Capital Campaigns: Strategies that Work, considered by many to be the “bible of capital campaign books. That book, a 400 page textbook on capital campaign fundraising, is now in its 4th edition. Her most recent book, Train Your Board (and Everyone Else) to Raise Money, coauthored with Andy Robinson, is a compilation of 51 training exercises.
Andrea is known as an innovator in the field. She pioneered the concept of Asking Styles and has written extensively on that subject. She has developed a model for donor conversations that has now been adopted by many in the field.
Along with Amy Eisenstein, Andrea developed Capital Campaign Pro to provide an effective, reasonably-priced way for organizations to get the support they need to conduct successful capital campaigns.

Andrea is a reknown expert on capital campaign fundraising. She has been leading successful capital campaigns for over 35 years.
Additionally, Andrea is known as an inspiring trainer. She co-developed the capital campaign course for The Fundraising School, and currently conducts webinars and virtual trainings for people from all over the country. She is the “advisors’ advisor” at Capital Campaign Pro. She facilitates weekly advisor meetings to discuss campaign strategy with the Campaign Pro Advisors.
Education and Certifications
Andrea holds advanced degrees in Philosophy from University of Pennsylvania and Brown University. She is also a graduate of the Johns Hopkins Fellows Program in Change Management and has both taken and taught courses at the Gestalt International Study Center in Massachusetts.
