Before a 2002 transition to the public sector, Derry was a regional sales manager at UUNET, a business-to-business internet technology firm based in Northern Virginia.
Derry is a dynamic problem solver and motivator with 25 years of professional experience in business, nonprofit, and international intergovernmental agencies.

Derry and his family love to travel and explore other cultures. The most interesting place they have lived is Rome, Italy and Derry’s most off the beaten path experience was volunteering for a chocolate factory based in the Amazon Rainforest.
