In this episode of All About Capital Campaigns, Amy Eisenstein speaks with Glen Galaich, CEO of the Stupski Foundation and author of Control: Why Big Giving Falls Short.

Glen Galaich, Ph.D. (he/him), is the CEO of the Stupski Foundation, one of the nation's most ambitious philanthropic spend-down efforts, returning all its resources by 2029 to advance health equity, food justice, postsecondary education, and economic opportunity in the San Francisco Bay Area and Hawaiʻi. His work centers on equity, justice, and dignity in solidarity with communities historically denied these values. Glen is committed to combating systemic racism, sexism, and discrimination; reducing donor control over nonprofit resources; and supporting a multiracial democracy.

This episode offers nonprofit executives, development professionals, board members, major donors, and foundation leaders a candid look at who controls charitable money, whose expertise shapes funding decisions, and what could happen if philanthropy placed greater trust in the people closest to the challenges.
