Originally from Metropolitan Detroit, Courtney Leonard earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Central Michigan University and completed her MBA with a concentration in non-profit management at Lawrence Technological University.

With an 18-year career as a professional fundraiser, she has accumulated extensive experience in the field. Courtney’s career began in health care philanthropy before transitioning to the higher education sector. Over the past 11 years at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, she has managed nearly every function within the Institutional Advancement Office as the Executive Director of Development. Most recently, she has led the preparation efforts for the University’s comprehensive campaign, including the successful completion of a guided feasibility study. Starting on July 1, Courtney will begin her new role as Clarke’s next Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
